ABSTRACT

For many actors, creating a character is one of the greatest pleasures of the rehearsal process. Deciding how to step into the imaginary shoes talented writers have cobbled can be fascinating, revealing, and intellectually and emotionally challenging. This chapter will help you build that character on a strong foundation of script and score analysis. As you begin combing through your texts for information about the character this is a good time to identify what will be useful to you and where to look.
