ABSTRACT
Welcome to musical theatre, where truth and the logic of everyday reality are often completely separate, which can make this the most difficult kind of acting. Yet, we willingly and eagerly suspend our doubts and disbelief in order to relish the passion, joy, humor and pain of these musical stories because logic has very little to do with why we are drawn to act in or attend musicals. Whether we call it catharsis, escape or just a desire for entertainment and emotional engagement, the musical theatre can take an audience to places that few other experiences can claim.
