ABSTRACT
Shona is a Bantu language of the Benue-Congo subgroup of the Niger-Congo family of languages. There are three dialects of Shona: Karanga, Zezuru and Korekore. The Shona spoken in Zimbabwe today is based on a mix of the Karanga dialect from Masvingo Province and the Zezuru dialect from north and central Zimbabwe.
