ABSTRACT

Several industries were chosen for the case studies.These industries were selected from a list taken from the Lebanese Syndicate of Food Industries.5 The selection was based on the following four criteria:

• First, all companies should produce traditional products similar to those produced in the RWCs. Among others, these products ranged from pickles, jams and preserves, syrups, distillates to any other labor intensive fruits or vegetables, packed products such as canned grape leaves, packed dried chick peas, etc.
