IS EVERYBODY ON BOARD? BUILDING COMMITMENT

Paradoxically, school-wide commitment to change can best be developed by creating deep dissatisfaction among the school community about low educational outcomes for many students. Strong dissatisfaction can then become the impetus for creating a culture of achieve­ ment for all students. However, compelling data must be used to persuade the school commu­ nity that many current practices are not working and that there is indeed a real need for change.
