CONCLUSIONS—AND (NEW) BEGINNINGS

Yet, we believe that there are factors that are imperative to successful change. These fac­ tors are critical regardless of the thrust o f the change effort within your school. We’ve ad­ dressed these factors throughout this book, particularly in the chronicling of the change effort at South Central Middle School. Let’s briefly review what happened at South Central with re­ gard to these five assumptions.
