ABSTRACT

So far, we have discussed using graphics images and word processing together to combine images with children's writing. This combination provides a springboard for children's thinking and improves written and oral language skills. The children's work that results-pictures with text-is conceptually the same as the work that children have often done in the past, except that when children have the support of the computer as a tool the quality of their writing often improves and the product often looks more appealing to them. Although this is highly motivat ing, it does not change the nature of the child's actual work.
