ABSTRACT

This chapter continues with an examination of the language behaviors and appropriate teaching strategies and activities for level 2, early intermediate stage, English language learners. This stage marks the shift from silence and single-phrase utterances at the beginning stage to speaking initial narratives with frequent errors. The strategies and activities align with the Common Core Standards for Listening and Speaking according to the following grade level ranges: K–2, 3–5, 6–8, and 9–12.
