ABSTRACT
Guided math is a great structure IF you set it up correctly. The key is that everybody knows what to do. The real challenge is to make sure everyone is meaningfully engaged so that the teacher can teach the guided math group. In a balanced mathematics classroom, independent practice is a critical element.
