Student-sized whiteboards are simply miniatures of the large whiteboards that you use with dry erase markers in your classroom. What we are call-ing “whiteboarding” is a classroom practice in which students, working together or individually, show their work on the whiteboard and then use it as a visual in their explanation to small groups or the whole class. It’s a simple, inexpensive, convenient device that actually has tremendous instructional value in getting students to engage in just the kind of activities that meet the Common Core State Standards for Speaking and Listening.
