ABSTRACT
The term word wall often conjures up a picture of a paper train running around the perimeter of an elementary school classroom. Each car of the train is a different letter and periodically, the teacher will add to the word wall with a high-frequency sight word or an interesting word that came up during a shared reading experience. However, word walls are and should be
an integral part of word study in both the middle and high school classroom, across content areas.
