ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book presents analyses of two sets of data. The two examples were created using state assessments, some perceptions, some demographics, and very little process data. Data analysis is a massive activity requiring the technical support of knowledgeable people and a data warehouse. Districts are just now coming on board with acquiring data warehouses that will enable the storage of a large number of data elements, and the analysis of data quickly, easily, accurately, and meaningfully. With a strong data analysis tool, standard queries and standard reports, such as a school report card, can be created for each of the schools by one person. Time and time again, the differences in results by classroom or by school come down to the fact that some teachers are teaching to the standards and some are not.
