ABSTRACT

This chapter shows the data analysis for Blue Bird Elementary School, a school with four years of norm-referenced testing. Blue Bird Elementary School is a kindergarten through grade six school in a multicultural, metropolitan area situated on the southern edge of the west coast. Blue Bird Elementary is one of eight schools in the Great View Elementary School District. Blue Bird Elementary School currently serves 851 students in kindergarten through grade six. The number of Blue Bird Elementary School students retained in a grade level increased since 2000–01, with the highest retention being in 2001–02. The staffs at Blue Bird Elementary School believe that a nurturing and supportive environment is a key element in meeting the changing needs of all students. All Blue Bird School teachers are assigned to teach within their certificated subject/grade areas, with the exception of three teachers with emergency credentials.
