Self-Esteem and the Wounded Student

Making the Shift: Dealing With Behaviors

The number one thing that people want me to explain during

my seminars is the definition of wounded. At first I was not sure

exactly what they were asking. I thought that the word spoke

for itself. But what I finally realized was that for educators this is

a new term in the field. When I speak with counselors, pastors,

or therapists this term is in their field of practice and a part of

why their clients go to see them. But for educators, we do not

necessarily assume that this will be something that we will be

dealing with. So for some of us, it remains outside our scope of

research and training.
