ABSTRACT

A classroom of third-grade students are studying countries of the world, selecting one for which to create a travel brochure. They always have their rubrics out while working. When the teacher sits down with her students, she expects them to identify where they are at and what they need to do next. She then initials each box, indicating that she agrees with the progress thus far. She shares, “By the time they hand in the project, I pretty much know the grade, as I’ve worked with them all along to help them to achieve at the Practitioner level and beyond.”
