ABSTRACT
The journey of instructional supervision follows a winding and often uphill path, but the instructional supervisor does not walk alone. Others who travel this road continue to refine such practices as peer coaching, action research, and portfolio development, extending the clinical model of supervision as a vehicle to enhance professional development. Along the way, supervisors guide teachers to discover strengths and identify opportunities for learning and growth.
