Your Best Athlete

Examine every drill that you run in your practices. What is the reason you run those particular drills? Coach Fox would answer, “Because my high school did it that way” or “My college coach ran that drill.” Does that make it a good drill for you? Another answer may be that we have always run that drill and it has become a tradition. Yet another reason may be that I attended a clinic and I saw a famous coach teach this drill. But if we ask, What is the purpose?, we may end up with a more productive drill and one that fits our team’s situation.
