ABSTRACT

The resource-based view asserts that fi rms gain and sustain competitive advantage by developing and using the organisation’s resources. These resources refer to tangible and intangible assets, and are used in business processes contributing to the implementation of a start-up’s strategy. Business processes are actions that fi rms rely on to accomplish some business purpose or objective. 1 They act as the routines or activities that a fi rm develops in order to get something done and reach its objectives. Examples are developing new products, supply chain management to manufacture and deliver products, and attracting new and maintaining relationships with existing customers.
