ABSTRACT

When talking about occupational health and safety, the subject of employee wellbeing is often absent from discussion.

In the spirit of stripping back, we’ll explore the roots of the term well-being and follow them as they weave a path towards effective workplace interventions.

Drawing broadly on a range of academic research and scientific studies we will consider how modern organisations might seek to enhance the power of their people with Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto Number 3, a brisk walk and a smile.

Finally, in this chapter, we’ll discover the future of health and wellbeing by revealing four megatrends and learn how other organisations have tackled these issues successfully.
