How did we arrive at these transpositions? This is the purpose of this chapter – to show how to transpose formulae.A greatmany equations occur in engineering and it is essential that we can transpose them when needed.
There are no new rules for transposing formulae. The same rules as were used for simple equations in Chapter 11 are used; i.e. the balance of an equation must be maintained: whatever is done to one side of an equation must be done to the other. It is best that you cover simple equations before trying this chapter. Here are some worked examples to help understanding of transposing formulae.
