ABSTRACT
The roles and responsibilities of a legislative reference librarian are not to be taken lightly. Misinformation or lack of adequate information can potentially lead to poor legislation that can negatively impact hundreds of people, while provision of accurate and appropriate information can assist lawmakers in drafting legislation that benefits society at large. Nowhere else is the impact of a reference librarian’s work more evident than it is in the legislative process.
