ABSTRACT

Anne-Marguerite Du Noyer (nee Petit) was bom in Nimes. Since her mother died in childbirth, Mme Du Noyer was raised by her maternal aunt. After the revocation of the Edict of Nantes when she experienced the dragonnade (preO meditated persecutions organized by Louvois and executed by the Royal Dragons against the Protestants to make them abjure their faith), she sought refuge in Holland for the first time in 1686.
