ABSTRACT

This tomb was visited only by Wilkinson and Champollion. By the time Champollion went there, the once beautiful tomb had already fallen to pieces: 'tombeau jadis couverte de peintures executes avec UN tres grand soin ET de belle's couleurs; il en reste quelques fragments, sur les parois l'enduit de limon est tombe avec la peinture presque partout'. According to Champollion the tomb was 'de moyenne grandeur, dans le plan ordinaire', and we may therefore take it that it was a medium sized T-shaped tomb, although no inner room is mentioned. It was located 'on hill of Pyramid called el-Mandara, near Hammam's'. Perhaps attempts were made between the two visits to cut out pieces, causing the plaster to come off the walls. Typical scenes, such as banquet, agriculture, and funerary ceremonies are nowhere described. The tomb had been subject to attack during the Amarna Period, but presumably only the usual mutilations were carried out.
