Free immigration was one of the main political aims of the Zionist movement in its attempt to get the majority of the Jews to Eretz Israel. Population characteristics also explain voting behavior. Finally and most significantly, human capital is of utmost importance in achieving economic growth. The long-term competitive advantage of Israeli firms is largely a function of their ability to exploit unique human capital capabilities.
