ABSTRACT

To “ride back o’er rice fields” is a common journey of young girls in the flesh market. Why do these young girls return home after all that they have experienced? Perhaps something about home—mother and father, brothers and sisters—affects the very essence of who they are. When they are forced to face who they are in their final stage, they have to “ride back o’er rice fields” to reassess their essence and reconstruct their sense of self.
