Research Collections: Content/Format/Service, a Vendor's Perspective
I like words. So many are full of "good stuff," like responsibility. As in: I believe it is our responsibility to take in as much of the big picture as possible and to determine for ourselves if what we are seeing looks like an elephant, lioness, snail, rabbit, crystal ball, print subscription, license agreement, blueprint for library renovation, strategie plan for organizational change, or consortia. Grasping, mentally if not physically, at least the outline of what we see is critical. Equally critical is staying dose to the detail. It is the detail which gives definition, adds beauty, and, if you will, inspires awe. For it is the luminal qualities of details that make me stand back and yet be very much a part of the thing I am experiencing and, often, trying to fathom.
