Selling Our Collecting Souls: How License Agreements Are Controlling Collection Management
The lieensing of electronic products imposes new challenges for the library. Too often libraries are being driven by electronic resource packages, bargain prices, ties to print material, and by our consortial partners-instead of what our users want and need in our individual libraries. How do we resist the indueements of these agreements while providing the best electronic collections to our patrons? How do we overcome "group think" while maximizing our financial resourees?
