ABSTRACT

Overcrowded ... apathetic ... standardized ... incompetent ... drugged-up ... underpaid ... stressful ... violent. These are but a few of the current buzzwords associated with American public high schools. Unfortunately, people using these adjectives and working outside of education find themselves tuned in to and turned on by media just dying to update them about atmospheric conditions in our hallways and in our classrooms. Behind sensationalized news broadcasts, daily talk shows, outlandish sitcoms, and touchy-feely evening dramas-somewhere within all the hype-the truth exists.
