ABSTRACT

Performance is the rating or judgment given to how we complete a task or do something. Production is how much we do or make by a measurable amount. Competition is the structure within which we produce and perform against other people. History has shown that some of our greatest military or political conflicts as human beings have, at their core, competition for land, natural resource, power, world influence, and money. The sooner we recognize it and begin to open a path for men to celebrate humility, the sooner men can spiritually grow and be more faithful. As Christian men, we need to get on the ball and uncover humility as God-given grace within the souls. We spend most of the lives as men trying to follow the American myth of rugged individualism, independence, emotionless living, superiority, spiritual blandness, and perfection. We must not forget that Christ’s message is to take off this mask of competition and to live in humility.
