ABSTRACT

A man must prove himself with outward production. The story is told of two fire hydrants located at opposite corners of the same intersection in a large city. Now, the first hydrant, on the south-side corner, is very old. It is somewhat tilted into the cement, the cement is cracked around it and crabgrass is growing through the cracks. The second fire hydrant is located on the north side of the corner. If there were such a magazine it would be the centerfold for Fire Hydrant Monthly. We try to please fathers and mothers, teachers and preachers, employers and employees; but we fail to try and please God. The Scriptures are clear, however, that a lifestyle of “being” is a most appropriate way to live. Christ cares for the inner man, for the soul, for how well and consistently can “be” a person of faith.
