ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the letter written to Francine, by the author about his Singlehood. The author writes the article he always wanted to read and while his singlehood may not resemble their singlehood, Francine, at least it won't be about coupledom. He struggled with loneliness, self-doubt, and anger at other people's assumptions. The loneliness would hit me on weekends. He'd be busy working all week, and come Friday night, would want to relax with some buddies. Author was fed up with himself for being better at terminating relationships than maintaining them. In Linda's Love Matters columns, even the problems of relationship often lead one back to the self, to our core. The author found a spaciousness and flexibility in the single life that he needed for my exploration and healing. This freedom could be used in many ways: living abroad for a while, taking part in a project going back to school, writing poetry the possibilities are endless.
