ABSTRACT

It was once said that God was mentioned more times on Web pages than any other noun. When the word was entered into the Alta Vista search engine, it resulted in about 2 million results. From the early beginnings of the Web the Vatican had an extensive site which has now been joined by Muslim, Hindu, Sikh and other faiths. A strength of the Web is that all religions have found a home in its vastness. This provides opportunities for children to have access to up-to-date information on what is happening in other faith communities. The Internet and the Web also allow pupils to join discussion groups and send e-mail, which can enhance their ability to communicate with people of different faiths all over the world.
