ABSTRACT

As I have said already I do not believe there is one, perfect way of meeting the requirement on school and college leaders to prepare consciously and rigorously for the strategic development of their organisations. Each of us meets the challenge of leadership in different ways, and this is as true in our preferred approach to achieving strategic development as it is in the personal style we adopt for dealing directly with the individuals and groups whom we lead - the arena of variation most often explored in studies of leadership.
