ABSTRACT

The chapters in this volume concentrated on the importance of, and changes in, trade, capital markets, foreign direct investment (FDI), industry, types/forms/size of organisation and business such as multinational companies (MNCs), management and economic development across varied Asian economies. The countries covered included those in South East and North East Asia, such as Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines Japan, Korea and China (and Hong Kong), These were analysed in a variety of ways and in a usefully comparative and historically grounded fashion.
