ABSTRACT

The Danish Ministry of the Environment and Energy (MoE) was one of the earliest environment ministries to be established (in 1971) and, periodically, it has prepared comprehensive environmental statistics. Over the last ten years, a variety of strategic plans have been developed by individual ministries — some broader than others — as part of a rolling process, for example, for transport, energy and agriculture. The MoE plays an umbrella role, assisting concerned ministries to prepare and review these plans. In 1995–6, the energy and agriculture plans have been reviewed.
