ABSTRACT

The experiential knowledge and understanding of a complex industry and its competing companies can be greatly enhanced by participating in a simuworld. Simuworlds differ from the well-known management games in several ways. Rather than being built on generic business concepts, they are designed around accurate published data about one industry, and they usually model more closely a single company within the industry. This chapter describes such a simuworld, The Multinational Management Game (MMG), which models the microcomputer industry and Compaq Computer Corporation (Keys, Edge, and Wells, 1994).
