ABSTRACT

Most projectors should handle either of these aspect ratios via an onboard menu, but it is good to consider them when considering a projection space on the stage. This chapter is titled Video Projections for the Stage, and gives the impression that live action moving pictures are the standard, but most of the time a projection is a still image instead. The images projected onto the stage are sometimes called program or perhaps content, and are computer files that have been stored on a playback device that is used to tell the projector what to project. The transform tool can be used to resize the image and move it to a particular part of the stage. A comparison can be made to the systems used to control stage lighting, in that that projector is like a light fixture, the designer's looks and cues the image content, and the lighting console the playback device.
