Although it is expressly or impliedly provided in most shipbuilding contracts that the vessel shall be delivered in a fully completed condition ready immediately to commence
furniture, crockery, charts, etc., the buyer will often choose, for reasons of cost or ease of inspection, to supply elements of the vessel’s machinery and equipment and will rely upon the builder only for their safekeeping at the shipyard and installation on board the vessel.
