ABSTRACT
Charles Bunge made a difference. From broad-ranging and numerous publications to leadership in professional organizations to the mentoring of countless graduate students, Bunge's presence has been felt in both public and academic library reference service for more than three decades. His confidence in the goodness of people, optimism for the future, and ability to bring keen insight and analytical skills to bear on complicated and often emotional issues has greatly influenced a generation of librarians.
