ABSTRACT

Recording sound is a technical field, and people have to know the technical aspects of their job. The majority of them do not care what technology is being used, or which version of software they are running. It doesn't matter at all to them, as long as people can bring their vision to a creative outcome, and a large part of that success comes from things other than the facility with the tools. The more a person knows about acoustics and room design, the better his/her choices will be on microphone placement. The more the person comes to know about mic design, the better he/she will be able to choose just the right mic for a particular individual. Once he/she comes to realize the subtleties and the art of voice recording, he/she can become the person that clients and actors want to work with.
