From a general point of view, this dissertation aims at providing the description of a language within the framework of multidimensional and lexical phonology. From a specific viewpoint, it will be shown that the different variants of class markers in Fula, and more specifically in Pulaar, are predictable on a phonological and morphological basis, a result which will lead to great simplification of the analysis of the nominal class system in this language.
