chapter  5
Transnational environmental crime
Pages 29

Environmental harm occurs everywhere and anywhere, and there are often important continuities that provide common ground across the globe. Transnational environmental crime is that which is truly global in scope, and that reflects broad socio-economic processes and trends associated with globalisation. The diversity and complexity of such harm can be understood in terms of national borders and international social processes, and the pressures and limits of economic life as shaped by the dictates of 21st century capitalism.
