ABSTRACT
As the AIDS epidemic continues to grow, the number of organizations that operate hotlines continues to increase. State health departments operate many of the hotlines while others are provided through AIDS service organizations. Some hotlines consist of taped messages that refer callers to the telephone numbers of various agencies, departments, and organizations. Others are staffed by volunteers and professionals who may answer questions directly. This listing is not intended as a thorough representation of all available telephone hotlines. State health departments and local organizations may apprise individuals of currently available hotlines within the community.
