ABSTRACT
We have seen that trade was very important for the rise of civilization in ancient Mesopotamia. We also have seen some indication of what its effect was on the trading partners. Now we must investigate what an economy based on trade does to the culture at home, for this is where women will begin to be secluded; this is what interests us most.
