Memory in Architecture and Landscape,” was held in March

2007, sponsored by the College of Environmental Design at the

University of California, Berkeley. For the financial resources,

and for fully supporting the program, I need to thank former Dean

Harrison Fraker. The Townsend Center for the Humanities also

provided additional funding, for which we are grateful. The

event would never have run smoothly without the help of the

late Sameera Sutton in the College of Environmental Design
