ABSTRACT
Stemming from the analysis of Kufic tiling from the Aq Serai Palace, Uzbekistan, and water striding insects, the striated tile template produces a monad with a controllable level of porosity. As the monad aggregates into a field, local moves enact control over the shape and direction of the growing membrane.
