ABSTRACT

This series of books has been written in advance of the start of the EYFS and it will be interesting to see how adequately the books address the many issues currently being faced by all those involved. I do hope that this small book on planning will be of help to those of you new to doing this and that it will help you keep in mind the importance of your own experience and views. Do not disregard these or be persuaded that they are not vital. They are. You have been working with children perhaps for many years and many of the things you are being asked to do formally are things you may have done instinctively just because you are interested in and care about the children. Try and find ways of minimising the amount of time (and paper and trees!) involved in all the new regulations and continue to hold tight to a belief in starting from the child. Good luck!
