ABSTRACT

The jussive مْزَج is a mood of the present tense that performs a variety of functions in Arabic. It is used in negating the past tense with the negative particle

ْمـَل, in conditional clauses, and in forming the imperative verb. This chapter will be devoted to ل and its impact on verbs. The imperative will be discussed in Chapter 17, and the conditionals in Chapter 20.
