ABSTRACT
A nominal sentence must be conjoined to the main clause by a waaw referred
to as Haal-waaw, لالحا واو. This Haal-sentence must have as its head an independent pronoun that refers to the subject of the verb in the main
clause. The tense of the verb in the main clause can vary. The verb in the
subordinate clause is usually in the present tense, as in the following sentences
in the singular:

of لالحا واو and without the presence of the independent pronoun in reference to the subject of the main sentence. The verb in the subordinate sentence,
however, must always be in the present tense.
