ABSTRACT

A comprehensive review was recently published highlighting the efficacy of family-based interventions for the treatment of adolescent eating disorders (EDs) (Downs & Blow, 2013). Of these interventions, Family-Based Treatment (FBT), or the “Maudsley Model” (Lock, Le Grange, Agras, & Dare, 2001; Lock & Le Grange, 2012), is considered particularly efficacious in treating a large number of adolescents suffering from Anorexia Nervosa (AN) and Bulimia Nervosa (BN) (Eisler et al., 2000).
